In Remembrance of a life mentoring broadcasting students….

Dana Galloway, picture taken by Susan Boeckmann

Dana has been a part of City College since 1983, when she was a Broadcasting student with her own radio show. Dana found where she belonged and it wasn’t long before she started working in the Broadcast Electronic Media Arts department. BEMA was Dana’s second home, and she watched over the students like her own children. She supported anyone in need- by listening, advising, finding jobs, feeding, and even giving money to students for necessities. Dana also supported all of the faculty, staff, and custodial that came through the building. She was the Mom of the department, a rock that we could all lean on.

Dana’s spirit will always be present in BEMA, and to honor her we have created this memorial scholarship. We intend to offer two scholarships a year to BEMA students, to be awarded on Halloween- Dana’s favorite holiday. A committee of present and former staff and faculty will work with the CCSF scholarship office to select the winners and distribute the awards.
